Note: Dr John likes Rosemary. There are some seasoning mixes on the market which feature Rosemary- like Herbs de Provence or Braggs Sprinkles. I had a recipe to make (Smashed Chickpea Sandwich & Spread) and did not have either of these on- hand. So, I improvised😊This is the result. Dr John

The Rosemary and Basil pictured above are from our garden.
Ingredients:
1 tsp fresh rosemary [from one of our bushes in the garden]- finely chopped (or use ½ tsp dry chopped or powdered rosemary)
½ tsp dry chopped dry fennel seed
1 tsp fresh basil leaf [from the garden]- finely chopped (or use ¾ tsp dry chopped basil)
½ tsp dry thyme or oregano- finely chopped or powdered
Mix these herbs together and give it a try in salad, spreads, or in soup. Dr John
Note on Herbs de Provence: Online you can find elaborate combinations of herbs and spices to create “authentic” Herbs de Provence containing 7 or even 9 herbs and spices. This is too hard and expensive for me, so…
Make a double recipe if you will use Herbs Provence on multiple recipes😊
I used dry ground Thyme and Fennel in this batch along with fresh basil and Rosemary from our garden. Dr John

Chopped and put together to be added to the sandwich spread recipe. You may use all dried herbs if you do not have fresh herbs on hand. Dr John
